Clinical Services

Yale Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is nationally and internationally recognized for its advanced clinical programs. Faculty members are board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care. Members work closely with physicians in cardiothoracic surgery, diagnostic radiology and pathology to provide comprehensive care. Patients are seen in the Winchester Chest Clinic (see Programs & Centers), adjacent to a state-of-the-art Pulmonary Function Laboratory. Programs in asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, lung cancer and sleep disorders are offered.

Yale-New Haven Hospital offers an inpatient pediatric sleep study program. Yale Sleep Medicine (see Programs & Centers) offers outpatient sleeps studies in New Haven, Guilford and Norwich. Physicians manage complicated lung problems such as pulmonary vasculitides, lung cancer, refractory asthma, and advanced interstitial lung diseases. Difficult cases are discussed and managed through interdisciplinary weekly conferences, including physicians specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, radiology, pathology, radiation therapy, and occupational medicine.
